Anti-Bullying Week 2020

Nationwide one in four people allege they are being bullied at work and one in eight are affected by bullying at work.

We believe that every member of staff has the right to be treated with dignity and respect in the workplace and are committed to providing a supportive working environment where everyone is free from all forms of harassment, bullying, discrimination and victimisation.

To help achieve this Local Authority in collaboration with the Trade Unions has updated its Dignity at Work policy to ensure it is reflective of current legislation and best practice, as well as being in line with the principles of Coventry City Council’s new Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy.  We would request other employers including Academies and Free Schools consider whether their policies are in line with current legislation.

One of the most distressing parts of being bullied is the feeling that no one takes it seriously or seems to care; often victims are left feeling there is nowhere to go for help or to be listened to. You can also access support through the Dignity at Work Policy in your workplace and 24/7 via an Employee Assistance Programme, Education Support Partnership or Occupational Health.
